Producer Spotlight - Dj Premier

It's only RIGHT I make the first Producer I speak about is Chris Martin AKA DJ Premier

"Ridin Shotgun wit Chris Martin my DJ/ Not the white boy but I'm down for the Cold Play - Royce Da 5'9"

Premier probably has to be my favorite Producer of ALL TIME! I may be showing my age but I remember back in the 90's you couldn't hear a Hip Hop album and not have a Preemo beat on there.  The way we hear "Mike Will Made It" or "Mustard on the beat" and all these popular producers now that's how Premo was back in the day.

As you should know he was also one half of the Legendary Group "Gangstarr" with Guru (R.I.P).  I still remember the first time I really heard Gangstarr was "Moment Of Truth" I then went back more to listen to their previous albums "No More Mr. Nice Guy" "Hard To Earn" "Daily Operation"  "Step In The Arena" and then Followed by "The Ownerz" which were all produced entirely by Premo.

Being from New York he helped create the sound for most of the 90's, which is what I grew up on like most of us.  Even up to today his productions sounds fresh and better than most producers.

When I first started producing he was one of the main producers I studied and listened to the most, I tried to mimic his sound(which is impossible) but he was definitely a huge influence to me on the producing side of things.  Lets get into a few Songs and Samples this legend is well known for.

KDs

KD happens to be my favorite player in the league, a big man that can move like a PG and SG. I am also a BIG fan of his sneakers. I've only been buying them since the IV's but I am trying to pick up a few pairs from before the IV's but in due time I guess.

The next few colorways dropping for the KD VI's are MEAN! I can do without those "PB&J" Ones and The "Supremes" were an easy pass for me (Even though I know they were very limited I just wasn't feeling them AT ALL)

Top Left - Meteorology
Top Right - Mint Speckles
Bottom Right - NYC 66
Bottom Left - N7s

Those Meterology ones are beyond tuff, If i Can't pick up the Fire Red III this weekend, these are definitely the next pair i'm going to try pick up. Sorry after the Jordan XII's the III's are my second Favorites (XI's are right after that) So i need them in my life. I am however trying to pick up a pair for my boy over in Kuwait right now serving our country (Salute to you Ref)

The Mint Speckles are very different but have no specific release date for those right now. They have that popular "Galaxy" feel to them that people happen to love, which may make them a little difficult to pick up but I hope i'm wrong. I never understood the whole "Galaxy" Craze, does it look good....YES but is enough enough already?

The NYC 66 ones represent the color jersey KD was wearing when he was playing out at Rucker Park, the one night he went off and scored 66 points in one game ( I believe the most points scored ever at Rucker Park was Joe Hammond with 74 points, if you don't know who he is go look him up he is a legend in NY)

The N7's.........whoooooooaaaaaa! Those are mean those I really need those, if it follows the other N7 releases they probably won't be out until next year Feb or Mar. The design on the sneaker itself is reflective too.

I had to pick these up when they dropped, The Seat Pleasant Colorway. I like sneakers with different colors you don't see too often. These along with the DMV V's are neck breakers

I play ball in my KD's as well they are all light and comfortable (After some break in time unfortunately tho) But I will say the VI's scare me because of how low the cut is on these, I usually play in Mid Tops. I did play in the VI's once and I can say I loved them, they are light, great court feel and COMFORTABLE, actually these have the least amount of break in time need out of all the KDs i've played but I stick with the V's and sometimes the IV's.

So stay tuned I will be posting and talking about All my latest sneaker pick up and I will also be giving you a look into sneakers I already own and why they are special to me, because I don't cop off of Hype, I cop because they mean something to me and yes I play in majority of my sneakers I DON'T pick up sneakers to resell but thats for another time.
